I have a few conflicting thoughts...

1) I remember in his first few years, where he ran more violently than any other RB I'd ever seen in the NFL. Those were highlight reel games.

2) Zimmer who pulled him out in the 4th quarter when he was a few yards away from breaking the all-time single season rushing record, later being quoted as saying "I don't care about records." Yeah, well today, we certainly do.

3) I also recall the scandal of him whipping 4 year old Adrian Jr with a switch (to the point of bleeding) because that's how his father treated him. That tarnished a lot.

There are a few good reasons why the Hall of Fame (and Ring of Honor) waits a few years after their final season before they are eligible to be elected/selected into these career-defining honors. Time heals all wounds...and we tend to remember the better accomplishments than the human failings of their indiscretions.

Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.

It was Fraizer that was coach in 2012. Peterson is a first ballot HOF. Not sure how that is debatable. Well deserved ROH class.
