Anyone actually been to training camp? I went the summer of '94, Warren Moon's first season. My wife was from Owatonna, just a stone's throw from Mankato so we spent a few days there. The thing I remember most was talking to Terry Allen at the Albatross. He was far more interested in my wife than anything I had to say (lol), but when the conversation ended, I thanked him, shook his hand and then patted him on the upper arm. It was the size of my thigh and it was like touching granite. I'd been lifting since middle school and been around football all my life, but I'd never seen anything like that. And this was a "smallish" running back? All NFL players are super human.

Even the coaches take up a lot of space, let alone the players.
Luved Terry Allen, dude was full of heart and a tough sob of a runner. Very sad what happened with him injury wise.
Been to more camps than I can remember...My uncle used to take me when I was a kid - those were the SB years. I blame him for my Viking affliction.
Great memories and yah, have been at that Albatross many times lol!
My last years down there (b4 Eagan) got to spend quality time with lots of posters from here...great times!

That was awesome for you to do, PF! A lot of old picks I was never even close to be around for, but the pictures were really fun to go through!

Wow , what a trip down memory lane !!! Korey Stringer broke my heart , so tragic . He didn’t die in vain though , the league were dicks back then and ran people down without getting sufficient water breaks. At least the league let up a little bit but that was rough. You’d hope the worst thing at practice would be hurting yourself. Other than that lots of cool memories !
I never made it to camp , I’ve been to about ten games though . I remember reading the Viking update every week. I’ve never not loved these Vikings ! We better win a bowl !
