JJ seems really focus on what he needs to do in camp, gotten his head on straight and realizes he's not the "BMOC" anymore and needs to work his ass off for the quarterback position. As to the questions, he probably got tired being asked about Kyler Murray every other question.

Maybe it’s just me, but Turner looks thicker from the waist down.

Maybe it was the towel hanging like toilet paper that distracted me, but at a second look, yeah, definitely looking thicker.

Well...Here we are analyzing every word during an OTA lol!
I hear it as K1 is publicly taking the high road and JJ seems to be taking on the challenge like a professional too.

I don't think so....I said as much earlier and someone seems to agree. I've followed McCarthy his whole career and I've never seen him speak the way he did today ever. I think he feels betrayed a bit by KOC, JMO:

McCarthy's reaction to the Vikings bringing in an established quarterback probably shouldn't be surprising, but it was interesting nonetheless. McCarthy spoke bluntly and without the same kind of smiley, positive demeanor we've seen from him for most of the two years since the Vikings drafted him tenth overall. It was fairly clear that he's not exactly pleased to be in this situation heading into his third season, which is understandable.

His demeanor while speaking about any topic is decidedly different. Less “oh shucks, I’m just a happy to be here” to maybe a bit more focused perhaps?

McCarthy's zip on line-drive throws is still obvious. Murray, who is far more experienced, can throw the fastball and also change speeds and layer the ball with touch, which remains the big thing for McCarthy to continue working on.

Only one practice and not a lot of throws to go by, but I am sure one of the main things the coaches are looking for is if he is showing improvement with putting better touch on the ball and taking something off it when needed. I would think that would have been a huge point of emphasis in his off season training.

Agreed 100%. I was almost turning away from the screen watching McCarthy's interview. Scathing, short, and canned responses. That's not McCarthy. I don't blame him, because the MN media have a lot of noobs, but he was pissed. it was hard to watch. But I saw some fire from him that he is out to prove people wrong.

Like I said once Kyler was added, I thought it was a slap in the face and just super odd. I get that we were gifted Kyler for $1.6M, but that one stings for McCarthy...it was on full display.

Looked like a pretty nice throw to me...my initial thought was why the hell was Addison catching the ball above his head? He stretches out his arms like he did with KM's throw and he walks in the EZ in stride. It seems like Addison knew it too...after getting up from acting like a grade-schooler catching a deep ball.

No doubt he'll compete hard, but if he's not QB1, he'll be off this team next year. He'll push for it. I think he thought this was a partnership and KOC would work toward his development, but he's seeing the business side of the game and a slap in the face indeed after only 10 games started.

KOC puts himself in this corner: its Murray or bust. And he's lost the loyalty of a kid who'd have died on the field for him. Sad really. I'd hate to see JJ jam it in Minnesota's face on another team.

As far as Murray is concerned, he seems genuinely excited about the opportunity. Glad to be here. Seems to mean what he's saying, loves KOC. 👍 I've got nothing against the guy. Have to hope he rocks it at this point.
