The last-place team right now in the North is Detroit. They have a winning record (3/2) and are only 2 games out of first with a whole lot of division games left to play.

I'm not predicting them (or anyone else) in October, but it’s clear this will be a dogfight down to the end.

• Who gets hot?

• Who stays healthy?

• Does K1 continue to ascend?

• Does Parsons return make a huge difference on a good Pack D? If so, when?

The Colts are 2-4. The team has already fired its General Manager, putting the head coach firmly on the hot seat.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner has been with the club since 2020 and has been one of the team’s most consistent performers. But he’s on an expiring contract, which could make him attractive on the trade market for a contender needing a defensive boost.

How does Buckner feel about the trade rumors?

“Right now, I’m just focused on the Vikings,” Buckner said, via James Boyd of TheAthletic.com, referring to Indianapolis’ Week 7 opponent.

And how would Buckner feel if the Colts approached him about a potential trade?

“I mean, we’ll see,” Buckner said. “I mean, if that happens, then we’ll see. We’ll see how that goes.”

In six games so far this season, Buckner has registered 26 total tackles with four tackles for loss, eight QB hits, and 4.0 sacks. He could be an attractive piece as a trade target before the deadline.
