This Is As Bad As Last Year
The one constant is KC. Maybe turn the play calling to Frank Smith? He went away from what had worked the last 11 games. Passing on the FG was just stupid.

29 passes
18 runs
KC had it figured out until he didn’t. Maybe that’s an oversimplification, but this isn’t rocket science.

Still a bad offense the other way around. What difference does it make?

Going away from a run-centric O had the D worn out. Missed as many tackles today as all year. Stopped playing complimentary football. It seemed brutally obvious to me.

I agree with you but in defense of KO-- we did actually have some quick passes this week. They hit some slants, Jefferson dropped a screen. I don't recall much to the RBs but Mason would've dropped that anyway. Mason was running into a brick wall and idk how healthy Aaron Jones is.
You keep posting 29-18 but like, would 4-5 more run plays have really tilted the game? That's a stretch.
To me the far more egregious blunders KO made were-
Trying a 57 yd FG in total chaos with the playclock running down on the first drive of the game. Take a timeout, calm yourselves, and give your kicker a chance. Or at least get the team on the field before they all have their hair on fire since the clock is down to 2 seconds.
Not trying a FG after the extended Jack Campbell injury. It was so dumb, you have the momentum, take the points. Even if it was the 4th and 1 and not 4th and medium, the points were more important and we could've cut the lead to 2.
Must-have 3rd and 4 play at the end is a back foot overthrown duck to Jordan Addison. However that happened-- it can't.
100% MUST-HAVE 4th and 4 play at the end and we punt instead of going for it, never to get the ball again. Oh and Jahmyr Gibbs and some guy named Haki had been gashing the gassed defense all quarter so the odds of getting the ball back were in my opinion even lower than normal.
None of that is personnel stuff. It's bad coaching. I usually feel good about our chances vs the Lions because I know Dan Campbell takes too many risks on 4th down, passing when he should run, etc. Well he played it tight this week and our coach is the one who blew it.
I like KO. I have to keep repeating it because I really do. But his deficiencies were on full display yesterday and I can admit that too.
